Who We Are

Our Lady of the Southern Cross College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational College.  Prior to 2008 St Columba’s, established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1877 was the primary school and St Mary’s, established by the Christian Brothers in 1963 was the secondary college.  The two schools unified in 2008 forming Our Lady of the Southern Cross College as we know it today.

Our primary purpose is to provide quality education within the framework of the Catholic Christian tradition.  The whole College community, students, staff, parents and parish, work in partnership to build the confidence and character of our students as life-long learners.  Every person’s journey is important and our aim is to ensure each individual develops academically, socially, culturally, physically and spiritually.

We are a part of the Diocese of Toowoomba run by the Toowoomba Catholic Schools Office (TCSO) which coordinates the running of 31 schools and colleges encompassing a large area of South Queensland as far west as Quilpie.  The connection with TCSO offers consistency across the educational spectrum.
