Visual Art

Students in Year 7 worked hard this term on their Praxis project, creating beautifully hand painted pots as table décor for Saints Race Day next weekend. This project was planned and executed by students with support from teaching staff, school officers and volunteers. The students are proud to have contributed their creative efforts towards this College community event.

Senior Visual Art students have produced some exceptionally high-quality artworks for assessment this term, many of these works can be viewed in the display windows outside the Visual Art room. Some notable works are included here for your enjoyment.

Drama

This week, drama students from across Year 6 and the Senior Years attended a performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at QPAC in Brisbane. Big thanks to Miss Creeley for organising such a fun and worthwhile Cultural experience for these students!

Music

OLSCC welcomes Mr Stew Sloan to the role of Instrumental Music Tutor. Mr Sloan is an accomplished musician who teaches at several schools across the region and brings a wealth of experience in training young musicians and forming youth concert bands. Students have received their new timetables, lessons are now held on Fridays, and there are new places available for students to begin tuition in woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. Limited places are now also available to study Piano with Mr Dore on Mondays.
